Description

No. 38 on Old Purton Road is a cottage dating from around 1730. It features a roughcast exterior over cob and timber framing, topped with a thatched roof that has three flush dormers. The cottage is one storey with an attic and consists of three bays, with the entrance located in the center bay. It has gable stacks and a 20th-century rear sunlounge. The front door is boarded with a glazed light, and the windows are timber casements. This cottage is said to be one of thirty built by Lady Meux around 1730.
