Description
The School House Restaurant is a former primary school and master's house, dating from around 1880. It is constructed of rubble stone with ashlar dressings and features a tiled roof. The building includes a school room with a lean-to entrance lobby on the right and a second classroom at right angles to the rear. The master's house is located to the left. The school room has tall triple trefoiled lights in its gables, and there is a gable bellcote supported by a carved Corinthian corbel. The school house has mullioned and transomed windows with hood moulds, and a moulded door that has been converted into a window. Inside, there is an open timber scissor truss roof. The rear classroom has been repurposed as a bar since August 1984.
