Description
The Old Cottage is a mid-18th century house located on the north-west side of Chute in Cadley. It is constructed primarily of flint facings with brick quoins and dressings, and has a tiled roof. The original structure comprises two storeys and three bays. A two-bay garage and an attic extension were added in the mid-20th century to the left. A central boarded door is set within a timber porch. The windows are 19th century timber casements with brick lintels that are cambered on the soffits. There is a blind opening above the door, featuring blue brick headers. Gable stacks are present on the original parts of the house. A single-storey outbuilding, originally two bays, has been converted to domestic use and is located to the right.
