Description
Ivy Farm House is an 18th-century house built from coursed and galletted flint, featuring rendered rusticated quoins and a front covered with black glazed pantiles. The house consists of two cells and stands two storeys tall. It has an internal stack on the right-hand gable and a central axial stack that has been rebuilt, along with a 20th-century external stack on the left-hand gable.
The north-facing front showcases a castellated dentil cornice made of gault brick. An off-centre door on the left is framed by a rendered pediment and surrounds. The windows are flush sashes with glazing bars, exposed boxes, and rendered rusticated surrounds, with two windows on each side of the door on the ground floor and five windows with six panes each on the first floor.
To the left of the main structure, there is a low two-storey addition under pantiles, which features horizontal sliding sashes on both floors, with the ground floor window set under a segmental arch. The rear of the house has a dentil cornice and is covered with red and black unglazed pantiles. It includes a window with 'Y' tracery in wood on the ground floor left, a blocked doorway with brick dressing, and a 20th-century circular window and flush sash with glazing bars on the right. The centre of the first floor has a flush sash with glazing bars, although the upper sash has been renewed.
To the right, there is a two-storey 19th-century flint outshut under pantiles, which has late 20th-century fenestration. On the left, an early 19th-century single-storey wing, partly against the end bay, features a flush sash with glazing bars facing east. This wing has been extended and the roof raised to the west to accommodate garages. Inside, the large centre and western gable stacks have been rebuilt.
