Description

The stables and coach house, now used as garages, are located immediately west of Sheringham Hall and were built in the early 19th century, likely by H. & J.A. Repton. The structure is made of pebble flint with gault brick dressings and has a slate roof. The coach house is situated to the north, with forward wings on the left and right to the south. It features three bays, plus a lower single bay at each gable end, and is two storeys high. The facade has vertical flush stripes in gault brick on either side, large doors on the ground floor, and three sashes with glazing bars, five panes wide, under flat arches on the first floor. A central axial clock turret made of wood, topped with a leaded cupola and gilded weather vane, is also present. The gable ends have sashes with glazing bars, five panes wide, and vertical flush stripes in gault brick at the centre.

The stables consist of single storey wings that project forward from the lower end bays of the coach house. Each wing has large garage doors in the centre, flanked by sashes with glazing bars, five panes wide, and there are no internal fittings. Additionally, there is a dog kennel attached to the east wall of the east stable wing, dating from the mid-19th century. This kennel is made of pebble flint with gault brick dressings and has a slate roof. It is approximately 2 meters wide, with a coped roof and a front gable of gault brick featuring a semi-circular headed arch. The kennel is located by the entrance to the service yard. The stable yard is enclosed by walls made of pebble flint with gault brick dressings.
