Description

This is a mid-18th century house located in Chute Forest, Cadley. It is constructed with a knapped flint facing, brick dressings, and a thatched roof. Originally a three-bay structure, a matching wide bay was added to the left. The central entrance to the original three bays has been blocked and replaced with a wide four-panelled door in a lobby entry, created at the junction with the added bay. A former gable stack is present. A brick chamfered sill is visible. The windows are 19th-century timber casements with cambered radial brick lintels sitting on a plat band. The thatch has been raised over the upper windows. Gable stacks are present; the left stack has been rebuilt with four flues. The main living room features a cambered timber fire lintel.
