Description

Gordano Farm is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a detached house. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a double Roman tiled roof with stone and brick stacks. The building is designed in an L-shape, with the entrance located at the rear of the stack. It has a single storey and an attic, with one window on the main façade.

To the left of the main range, there is a planked door, and to the right, a three-light ovolo-mullioned casement window with a hoodmould. Above, in the gabled half dormer, is a two-light cyma-mullioned casement. The cross wing that projects to the left includes a two-light flush mullioned casement with a hoodmould on the ground floor, a four-light recessed cyma-mullioned casement on the first floor, and a two-light window in the attic. The wing has a coped verge with a saddlestone.

On the left return of the wing, there is a two-light ovolo-mullioned casement on the ground floor and wooden casements on the first floor. The rear of the wing features 20th-century mullioned casements, and the rear of the main range also has 20th-century mullioned casements. Although the interior was not accessible during the survey in November 1986, the layout suggests that it was originally a late Medieval house that was remodelled in the 17th century.
