Description
Prospect Farm is a farmhouse, now a detached house, dating from around 1700. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with coped verges and gable end stone stacks, although the rear roof pitch has been replaced with 20th-century slates. The building is two storeys high and has three windows. There is a 20th-century door to the left of centre in a 19th-century opening, a blocked doorway with a flat stone hood on brackets, and a 3-light ovolo-mullioned casement to the right. To the left, there is a 2-light mullioned casement in a blocked doorway. On the first floor, there are two 2-light and one 3-light ovolo-mullioned casements. The rear of the house has 2-light mullioned casements, a 20th-century conservatory, and 20th-century rooflights in the attic. There is a single-storey extension on the right return. Inside, the farmhouse features open fireplaces with lintels on stone jambs and stop-chamfered beams. Notably, the village bakery operated from this location during the early 20th century.
