Description
West Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, with changes made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with coped verges and gable end rendered stacks. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys with four windows. The central entrance consists of a planked door set in a chamfered surround, topped by a flat stone hood. On either side of the door are two 2-light cyma-mullioned windows with sashes. There is a lintel string course, four 2-light mullioned sashes on the first floor, and a small blind window above the door. The left side of the building has a 20th-century porch, a chamfered light on the first floor, and a 2-light cyma-mullioned attic casement. The right side features a 2-light mullioned attic casement. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension on the right and a two-storey wing on the left, which was extended in the 19th century and includes sashes. The interior was not accessible during the survey in November 1986.
