Description
The Old Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a detached house, dating from around 1700. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with a concrete tiled roof and features a stone stack with moulded capping to the right and a saddleback coped verge. The building has an L-plan layout and is two stories high with five windows across the front. The central bay projects forward and contains a six-panelled door. To the left of the door are two 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements, while to the right are a 2-light ovolo-mullioned casement and a 16-pane sash window. A continuous string course runs above the doorway with terminals at the sides. On the first floor, there are five 2-light ovolo-mullioned casements. The right side of the building has 2-light mullioned casements, a 3-light beaded mullioned casement, and a blocked doorway to the right. The first floor features a 3-light and a 2-light mullioned casement, and the gable end of the wing has a 2-light ovolo-mullioned casement. The interior was not accessible during the survey in November 1986.
