Description
This outbuilding, likely a stable, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble with some brick dressings, and parts of it are painted. The building has a hipped thatched roof and is small, facing southwest towards the yard behind Rose Cottage. It has a roughly square plan with a projecting bay on the southwest side. The exterior is single storey, featuring a front doorway on the left with a plank door in a solid frame. The projecting bay on the right has a window with a brick segmental arch, which was glazed in the 20th century. At the rear, there is a loading hatch doorway that opens onto the lane. Although the interior was not inspected, this outbuilding is part of a particularly attractive group of listed buildings in an unspoilt village, adjacent to Cockington Park, and is included for its group value.
