Description

This outbuilding, likely originally a stable, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of slate stone rubble and quartz, with a bitumen-coated rag slate roof and half-hipped ends. The building has a rectangular plan. A central entrance is flanked by stone rubble steps leading to a loft at the rear on the left side. A rear outshot was possibly added in the mid-19th century. The outbuilding is two storeys high and features a symmetrical single window front. The ground floor has a central 20th-century plank door with a granite lintel, and two pointed, granite arched window openings to the right and left, each with a recessed cross directly above. A row of pigeon holes is located on the first floor, with a central roundel and a blocked roundel below. There is another cross in the right-hand side wall, and a lean-to outshot on the left side.
