Description

Milestone located to the south of No. 35 on Victoria Road in Camelford, dating from around the mid-18th century. This milestone is made of granite and has a rectangular shape with a rounded top. It is inscribed with the number "16" and references the Act of Parliament passed in 1759 for making or repairing roads from Launceston to Camelford, Wadebridge, St Columb, and Truro. The figures on the milestones were inscribed by Rev. William Phillips, the Rector of Lanteglos, to support this undertaking.
