Description
This stable, likely a former linhay, dates from the 19th century and is located approximately 42 metres north-west of Home Farmhouse in Cockington. It is constructed from local stone rubble with a weatherboarded front and features a thatched roof. The stable faces south-east towards the farmyard and is built end onto the lane. It consists of three bays, each separated by full-height stone piers, and contains two 20th-century stable doors in each bay, with a stone wall extending up to the loft level. There is a loft loading hatch at the left (south-west) end accessible from the lane. The roof is half-hipped at both ends. Although the interior is not available for inspection, this stable, along with the other farm buildings at Home Farm, contributes to a particularly attractive group of listed buildings in the unspoilt village and the adjacent Cockington Park.
