Description
Rock House is a house dating from around 1840. It has a plastered exterior and a hipped slate roof, with stacks that have rendered, linked shafts featuring cornices and old pots. The building has a double depth plan, consisting of two rooms wide with a central entrance, and includes a lower-roofed block to the right that is set back from the main block.
The house is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-bay front with deep eaves and a platband at the first-floor level. The narrow central bay is slightly projected forward and features stacks with triple shafts that rise through the eaves. The entrance consists of a recessed two-leaf panelled front door topped with an overlight that has geometrical glazing bars. The tall ground-floor windows are adorned with proud architraves that have incised decoration, and they contain 12-pane sashes with margin panes. The two outer first-floor windows also have moulded architraves and 12-pane sashes. The left return of the building matches the style of the front. The interior has not been inspected but may still contain interesting features.
