Description
A range of three cottages located on Heath Road in Lower Brixham, likely dating from the early 19th century. Numbers 1 and 2 have roughcast frontages, while number 3 has a front and side wall constructed from painted stone rubble. All have slate roofs. Numbers 1 and 2 feature a red-brick chimney on the rear wall, and number 3 has a large, old red-brick chimney on the centre of the roof ridge.
Numbers 1 and 2 are positioned at a right angle to the rear of number 10 Ranscombe Road, slightly recessed. Number 3 abuts numbers 1 and 2 at a right angle, with its side wall level with that of number 10, and its entrance located in the gable-end facing Heath Road.
Each cottage is two storeys high with garrets. Numbers 1 and 2 are each one window wide, arranged as a mirrored pair with adjacent centre doorways contained within a single wide opening. They have late 20th-century half-glazed wood doors. Number 1 has two-light wood casement windows with ten panes per light, all replacements from the late 20th century. Number 2 has late 20th-century windows of a similar style. Each cottage has a dormer gable with glazing that matches the lower windows. Number 3 has a centre doorway with a late 20th-century half-glazed wood door, and late 19th-century two-light wood casement windows in each storey above. The window on the second storey is mullioned and transomed, while the window on the third storey has two panes per light. The side wall facing Heath Road has no openings.
