Description

A pair of small houses of around the 1840s, located on Fisher Street in Paignton. The houses are rendered with a slate roof and have stacks with rendered shafts and platbands. They have a double-depth plan and are two storeys high, featuring a three-window first-floor front. There is a blind window above two elliptical-arched doorways; the door to No.36 dates to the 1980s, while No.38 has a six-panelled door. Carved Coade stone heads are positioned above the doorways, suggesting that stuccoed moulding has been removed. No.38 retains its original 6/6-pane sashes, whereas No.36 has mid-20th century replacement windows. The interior has not been inspected. The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
