Description
No. 5 Pixie Cottage is a small house located on Sunbury Road in Paignton, likely built in the 18th century or earlier. The exterior is rendered, and it features a thatched roof with a gabled section at the junction with No. 3. There is a large rendered chimney stack on the rear right, which has a platband. The house has a distinctive curved front that meets the corner of Sunbury Road and may have originally been part of a single building with No. 3, which is adjacent to the left. It is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with two windows on the ground floor and four on the first floor. The eaves of the thatched roof are eyebrowed over some of the first-floor windows. The front door, which is recessed, is located to the right of centre, and there is a three-over-six pane sash window to the right. Other windows feature late 19th century or 20th-century glazing. The interior has not been inspected but may contain interesting features.
