Description

These are a pair of gate piers, dating to circa 1850, at the entrance to Rock House. The piers are made of plaster and are rusticated, with embattled tops. They sit on plinths and have projecting cornices below the battlementing. The outer piers and the linking walls have coped merlons and embrasures to the battlementing; the inner piers' battlementing has been repaired in a simpler style. The piers are listed for their group value with Rock House, which features an embattled parapet.
