Description
This pair of gate piers, along with an attached wall and mounting block, dates from the 18th century and is located about 18 metres south of Rock House. The structure is made of limestone rubble, with ashlar and freestone dressings. The gate piers have a square plan and stand about 2 metres high on a plinth. They feature panels on the front and rear, a cornice, and urns with fluted bases on the plinth, although the finial is missing from the urn on the west pier. The rubble wall extends about 5 metres in length, ramping up at each end. To the east, there is a mounting block made of rubble with freestone treads.
