Description

Eastfields is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of rubble and has a pantiled roof featuring gable stacks on the south and west sides. The building is designed in an L-shape with a central passage and has two storeys with two windows. The ground floor left and first floor right have metal framed casements, while the first floor left has a 19th-century timber two-light casement. A central gabled porch with bargeboards contains a plank door with a glass insertion.

On the south side, there is a lean-to with a corrugated iron roof and two 20th-century windows. The north side features two windows, all of which are metal framed casements except for the ground floor right, which has a two-light casement with decorative catches. All windows have timber lintels, and a 20th-century window in the gable has replaced a three-light ovolo mullioned window. The rear of the house includes a 20th-century conservatory and lean-to, with varied windows and a plank door in a moulded frame with a timber lintel, now located within the conservatory.

Inside, the south room has an encased beam and a fireplace with a plain arched lintel, alongside a brick bread oven. The door to the passage features strap hinges, and the door to the former dairy has been cut back to accommodate barrels. There is a winder stair located in the west wall.
