Description
Lynch Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from around 1700 to 1720, with 20th-century additions and alterations. The building is constructed of rubble and has a double Roman tiled roof with gable stacks. It features a two-room plan with a wide entrance passage in between. The south front has two and a half storeys and three windows, all of which are 20th-century cross windows, along with a central French window, all having timber lintels. There are three hipped dormers, each with two-light casements. The rear of the house retains wooden cross-mullioned windows, which have early wrought-iron catches, and a central window that lights the stair, with dormers similar to those on the front. A late 20th-century single-storey wing with a pitched roof is attached to the west, along with a porch to the northwest; cross-ties are present on the front and rear walls. Inside, there is a barrel-vaulted cellar beneath the entire house, accessed by a stair at the west end that was formerly external. Restoration was in progress at the time of the survey in July 1984.
