Description
Higher Blagdon Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1840, which was refenestrated in the 1970s. The building is rendered and features a hipped slate roof, positioned end on to the road. It has a double-depth plan with a central entrance leading into a passage and a rear left stair hall, while the principal rooms are located at the front. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical four-window front. This includes a pilastered doorway with a keyblock, a panelled front door, and a fanlight with glazing bars. The windows are plate-glass set in original sash embrasures, and the rear elevation retains one double-hung small-pane 19th-century sash window. Inside, the farmhouse preserves 19th-century joinery, including a good open wall stair, one marble chimney-piece, and decorated plaster cornices.
