Description
The Dairy at Middle Blagdon Farmhouse is a building dating from the 1870s, located in Paignton. It is constructed from local stone rubble with red breccia dressings and features a turnerised slate roof, along with a stack that has a rendered shaft. The dairy is situated in the higher yard, just behind the farmhouse and near its back door. It has a small rectangular plan and is two storeys high, with an asymmetrical front that includes three windows and three doors on the ground floor, which still show remnants of porch hoods supported by shaped brackets. The building has three ground-floor and three first-floor iron-framed small-pane 19th-century casement windows with red breccia flat arches, as well as two similar windows on the left side. The interior has not been inspected but may contain interesting features. This dairy is part of a large planned double-courtyard split-level farmyard that remains in agricultural use, making it a rare survival in Devon.
