Description
The building is a dairy, probably from the late 18th century, located adjacent to the north elevation of Great House Farmhouse in Theale, Wedmore. It is constructed of random rubble and features a Bridgwater tile roof that is hipped to the west, with a coped verge to the east and two brick stacks. The dairy is two storeys high and has three bays on the southern elevation. It includes three-light casements with glazing bars, although the first-floor windows are blocked. There are two door openings with plank doors. The right half of the southern elevation has a broad pentice supported by four braced posts, and there is a section of rubble wall with a coping at its eastern end, along with studwork and bargeboarding at the western end. Inside, there is a broad inglenook fireplace that includes a bread oven.
