Description
Theale House is an early 19th-century house featuring a rendered exterior that mimics ashlar stonework, with an N-shaped slate roof, coped verges, end ashlar stacks, a cornice band, and a parapet with plain coping. The building is designed in a Gothic style and consists of two storeys and an attic, with three bays. It has 2-light casements with decorative glazing set in plain architraves. The central window on the first floor is the tallest, featuring a pointed arch headed casement with Y-tracery and a stained glass panel. The central door opening has a plain surround and a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed. There is a wooden "portico" supported by two chamfered columns.
To the right of the main façade is a single-storey outshut with a radiused corner, a bitumenised slate roof, and a pointed arch window opening with a 2-light casement that has leaded lights. To the left, there is another outshut, one storey and attic, with a half-hipped slate roof and a broad 2-light window on the first floor. The forecourt wall is made of rubble with dressed stone capping and low wrought-iron railings. To the left, there is a pointed arch door opening with a plank door, and to the right, a pair of ashlar gate piers with moulded caps supporting a paired wrought-iron gate.
