Description

Pilham Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with alterations in the 20th century. It is built of rendered material and has double Roman tile roofs with coped verges, one of which has a ball finial. The earliest part of the house was originally a gable-fireplace house with an entrance to the side of the heated room. Later additions have created an asymmetrical T-shaped plan. The left side of the house is a single storey with an attic, while the right side is two storeys high, under a gable with a ridge perpendicular to the front. The windows are 2-light casements with glazing bars; those on the first floor of the left two bays are situated in gabled dormers. There is a canted bay window with a hipped tile roof on the left ground floor, and French windows with glazing bars on the right ground floor.
