Description

The building is a late 19th-century single-storey former dairy located at Kerrylamont Farm, featuring an attic and a circular plan. It has a painted render exterior over red-brick, with a timber bracketed, stop-chamfered square-plan columnar ambulatory at the ground level, enclosed by a red-brick wall. The building showcases timber brackets beneath moulded eaves, gabled dormers, and pitched, stop-chamfered square-plan columnar walkways that connect the farmhouse on the left to outbuildings on the right.

The outer ambulatory is adorned with decorative floor tiles, and there are narrow, round-arched windows regularly placed at the ground level. It has two-leaf boarded timber doors on the northwest and southeast sides, with gabled dormers also regularly positioned on the northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast. The windows feature decorative leaded glazing, and the roof is a graded grey slate conical design with terracotta ridge detailing on the gabled dormers, although the central finial is missing. The flanking walkways also have grey slate pitches and terracotta ridge detailing.

Inside, the dairy has a terrazzo tiled floor, with some areas featuring clay tiles. The walls are covered in floor-to-ceiling white-glazed square tiles, with an acorn-leaf painted border decoration at dado and cornice levels. There is a timber corbelled cornice and a boarded timber tapering ceiling that includes a decorative ventilation grid at the flat circular summit. Openings have raised timber surrounds, and there is a continuous marble bench on regularly spaced columnar supports at dado level against the outer wall, although part of it is missing. At the center, there is a decorative painted fountain with a marble surround, a foliate base, and a mermaid set in an open shell supporting a smaller shell above.
