Description

Late 19th century. Near-symmetrical, single storey with attic pair of half-timbered Old English style cottages forming 6-bay block (left cottage 4-bay, right cottage 2-bay); slightly advanced, gabled bays flanking centre. Red brick at ground; polished sandstone mullions; red brick voussoir detailing surmounting openings; projecting cills; half timbering to attic.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: timber panelled doors at ground in bays to outer left and right; quadripartite windows at ground in slightly advanced, penultimate bays to outer left and right; tripartite windows centred in apex above. Bipartite window at ground in bay off-set to left of centre; quadripartite window off-set to right; pitched, tripartite dormer centred above.

Predominantly leaded casement glazing. Graded grey slate roof; corniced whitewashed harl ridge stacks flanking centre; various terracotta cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

RAILINGS, GATEPIERS AND GATES: simple wrought-iron railings enclosing site; ball-finialed piers flanking pedestrian entrances; wrought-iron gates.
