Description
Peach Cottage is a farm cottage associated with Higher Blagdon Farmhouse, likely built in the late 18th century. The structure is made of stone rubble, with parts painted and rendered, and features a front elevation of Flemish bond red brick. It has a wheat reed thatched roof, which is hipped at the right end and gabled at the left end, with a rendered shaft stack on the left. The cottage has a small two-room plan and includes a flat-roofed single-storey addition from the 20th century at the rear.
The building stands two storeys high and has an asymmetrical two-window front. A 20th-century plank front door is located to the right of centre. The porch hood mentioned in the 1975 listing description has lost its covering at the time of the survey. The ground-floor window on the left and the two first-floor windows are likely early 20th-century two-light timber casements with glazing bars and timber lintels. The ground-floor window on the right is a small three-pane fixed window. There is an outshut at the left end, which was described as thatched in the 1975 listing but is now roofed with corrugated iron and has a doorway on the front. The interior has not been inspected but may still have interesting features.
