Description
Somerleyton Cottage is a farm cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with some areas whitewashed. The cottage features a pantile roof with brick coped tumbled gables and single brick gable stacks. There is a lower rear wing that also includes a gable stack. The building is two storeys high with a two-bay front, showcasing brick dentillated eaves. The entrance is an off-centre planked door, accompanied on the right by a margin light sash, both of which have segmental brick heads. On the first floor, there are two similar windows with flat heads. The rear wing has a planked door and a single margin light on each floor, with the left side being whitewashed and featuring a cat slide roof over the dairy.
