Description

No. 28 South End is a house built in 1774, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond of two, topped with a pantile roof featuring brick coped tumbled gables and kneelers, and has two brick gable stacks. The building is two storeys high with a three-bay front. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed door from the 19th century with a plain overlight, flanked by single plain sash windows. Above the door, the keystone is inscribed with "WM 1774." The first floor features three similar windows, and all openings have segmental brick heads.
