Description
Nos. 19 and 21 are a pair of detached houses, built around the 1850s. The exterior is stuccoed and features a blocked-out finish. The roof of No. 21 is slated, while No. 19 has a tiled roof, both hipped at the left end. The chimney stacks have rendered shafts topped with old pots. The houses have a double-depth plan with a central entrance, with No. 21 now accessed from the left side.
The front facade is symmetrical with two storeys and three windows, though there have been some later alterations. A central Tuscan porch with an entablature leads to a small-pane 20th-century front door for No. 19. The first floor has three sash windows in their original openings, with the centre and right windows being 12-pane sashes, while the left window has been reglazed as a 4-pane sash with horizontal glazing bars. The ground-floor window on the right has been enlarged and fitted with a high-transomed casement. Additionally, a garden door at the right end has been converted to a timber sash with glazing bars.
No. 21 also features attractive garden railings with prominent ogee finials. The interior has not been inspected but may contain interesting features.
