Description

The garden walls and gate piers for Nos 50 to 64 on Teignmouth Road in Torquay date from the late 1840s to early 1850s. They are constructed from local grey limestone rubble, with the gate piers being plastered. These walls enclose the front gardens of a group of detached villas built around the same time. The gate piers are square in shape and topped with pyramidal caps. This structure is an important part of the overall character of the villa development and is noted for its group value.
