Description
Harcombe Farmhouse is a mid-17th century house located on Hicks Common Road in Winterbourne. The building is rendered and features double roman tile roofs with diagonal stacks at the end gable and rear gable. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has three windows, all of which are 20th-century multi-pane plastic-coated casements set under labels. Two gables flank a two-storey gabled porch that has a cambered head opening, which contains a studded door in a moulded frame. There is a 19th-century rear wing and a later lean-to on the left side. At the rear, two gables flank a two-storey gabled stair-turret. Inside, several features have been recently removed, but some elements remain, including chamfered, stopped beams, an ovolo-moulded lintel in a blocked doorway, and an extended collar roof.
