Description

Harwood House is a late 17th-century building, rendered in appearance. It has a half-hipped roof now covered with modern tiles, and tall rendered stacks. The house is two storeys high with attics. A decorative band runs around the building. Originally, it featured four window bays, though the two outer bays are now blocked. The inner two bays contain 19th-century mullion and transom casement windows with diagonal lead glazing bars. There is one attic dormer window. The end elevation features one window bay, a blocked window on the first floor, and a 19th-century wooden porch. A single-storey extension from the 19th century projects to the south. Inside, the original staircase rises through three storeys and includes a closed string, robust turned balusters, and plain newels.
