Description

The former Vicarage, now a house, dates from around 1860 and was probably designed by G.E. Street. It is constructed of rubble with freestone dressings and has an artificial slate roof. The building is an irregular, picturesque composition. The south elevation has two storeys and three windows. A central door is set beneath a three-cusped light within a pointed arch, with a dripmould above. Flanked on either side are three-light, transmullioned, cusped windows. Above, to the right, is a pointed rose window in a full gable, while the window to the left mirrors this design in a smaller gablet. The return elevation has two gables and features similar four-light windows below, with three-light, pointed windows above. A half-hipped wing extends to the rear, and there are several tall chimney stacks.
