Description
Harcombes is a house dating from the mid-18th century, possibly an extension of an earlier cottage. It has a rendered exterior and a double roman tile roof. The building is two storeys high and features three windows, all of which are glazing bar sashes. A central 19th-century half-glazed door is set beneath a flat hood supported by brackets. There are single-storey wings on either side of the main structure, which is characterized by two flattened gables. A moulded coped parapet with urns rises from each wing to two pineapple finials, then descends to the flat summits of each gable and back down to a central flat that is adorned with an eagle. At the rear, the house has two storeys with four very low windows, all of which are 19th-century casements. Inside, the rear left room contains a large blocked fireplace and has a low ceiling.
