Description

This is a 17th-century house situated on Castle Street, Thornbury. It has a double, asymmetrical gabled front and is now used as a mixed shop, office, and residence. The exterior is rendered, with a Bridgewater tiled roof and three diagonal brick stacks. The house is three storeys high, featuring two windows on the upper floors. The upper floors have sash windows. The first floor has bays with modern casements, one light each. The ground floor bays have a slate roof. Doorways are framed with part-ovolo moulded details. Internally, a blocked winder stair remains. The ground and first floors are characterised by ovolo-moulded beams, featuring decorative stops, along with ovolo moulding to the bays.
