Description

This building complex consists of a barn, stables, and outbuildings located 5 yards north of Badminton Farmhouse. It dates from the late 18th century and mid 19th century, constructed from coursed squared rubble with a Cotswold stone slate roof. The barn is designed in a traditional Cotswold style, featuring two porches with hipped roofs and square-headed carriage entries. There is a lean-to beside one of the porches, and between the porches, there is a mid 19th-century stable with a pitched roof, which includes a raised central timber louvre and a two-light casement window above a central plank door.

At the north end of the barn, there is a cartshed and workshop with a loft above, which has two dormer windows and an external staircase on the west gable. The rear elevation of the barn features a lean-to porch on the left and a gabled porch on the right. Adjacent to the left porch is an engine house that includes an inner chimney. On the south gable, a flight of eight steps leads to a loft in the barn, with a dog kennel located below the steps and slit vents present. The interior of the barn comprises ten bays with a queen post roof.
