Description
This building is a barn and adjoining stables loft and workshop, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from rubble and features a Cotswold stone slate roof with coped raised verges and saddle stones. The barn has a central gable and a projecting porch with a square-headed carriage entry. To the left, there is a modern lean-to, and to the right, a 19th-century lean-to cartshed with a loft above. The structure likely consists of seven bays and has a strut and tie-beam roof. At the rear, there is a workshop and stables, also made of rubble with a Cotswold stone slate roof. This section is one storey high and has three bays, with the center bay recessed and featuring a tail gable, while low gables sit over the outer bays. Overall, this is a good and visually prominent example of a traditional Cotswold barn.
