Description
Talbot Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1866, with some minor alterations from the 20th century. It is constructed of random limestone rubble with stone dressings and features raised long and short quoins. The roof is stone tiled, with raised coped verges and kneelers, and has paired gable stacks. The building has a T-plan layout, is two storeys high, and has three windows. The central bay projects with a gable, and both the ground and first floors have 6-light windows that include ovolo-moulded mullions and transoms, as well as hood moulds. There is a central porch with a 4-centred arched opening and a hood mould, above which is a 4-light window.
On the left side, there is a large external stack and a single light window on each side at attic level, set in eared architraves. The lower 2-storey wing at the rear has two 2-light casements on the ground floor, also in eared and shouldered architraves, and two similar windows under the eaves. The right side features a single light window at ground, first, and attic levels to the left of the external stack, and a single storey addition to the right with a single light in the gable end. The rear wing on the right has two 2-light casements at the first floor in plain surrounds and a lean-to with a pitched roof and 20th-century glazing, which was formerly an open-fronted sheltered area. At the rear, there is an attached 1½ storey block with a 2-light casement, a large gabled porch with a door attached to the gable end, and two 2-light casements at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
