Description
Lower Ledge Cottages and Honeysuckle Cottage are a pair of houses located on the south side of Lower Street in Dyrham, dating from 1863, as indicated by the datestone on the first floor. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble and feature a double Roman tiled roof with a central ridge stack. Each house has two storeys and two windows, all of which are two-light casements with eight panes each, set beneath segmental heads with keystones. The central entrance for each house consists of a four-panelled door, also with a similar head. The outer windows on the first floor have only one light each and are set in small gables, while the ground floor on the right side has a single light. The left return of the cottages includes a door matching the front, along with quoins. This pair of houses is a good example of the ongoing development of the Dyrham Estate.
