Description
Gatesgarth is a detached villa dating from the early 19th century. It features colourwashed stucco and a slate roof. The building is two stories high with a three-window south front. On the ground floor, there are two-leaf French windows with marginal glazing under segmental heads, positioned on either side of a central segmental-headed recess. The windows have 'Y' tracery in the segmental lights and blind boxes above. The upper floor has 12-pane sash windows that are connected by a shutter frame, each with two louvred shutters. The villa has wide, projecting eaves, a hipped roof, and two ashlar stacks. To the right, there is a four-panel door leading to a porch extension with a lean-to open porch supported by a concrete pier. A segmental-headed carriage arch is located to the right, with a further lean-to addition on the left.
