Description

Forde Grange, the stables located 20 metres north of the barn, is a detached stable building dating from the 18th century. It features rubble walls with large stone quoins and a slate roof, and is two storeys high. The building has three windows and a doorway with a wooden lintel above it. There is a plank loft door directly above the main entrance. Inside, the stables have heavy section beams with shallow chamfers and run-out stops, along with remnants of a brick floor. There is also a single stable attached to the north, constructed of rubble with brick quoins and covered by a lean-to slate roof from the 19th century. This building is included for its group value.
