Description
No. 21 Commercial Road is a house built around 1850, featuring Flemish bond brickwork and a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has two windows on the Commercial Road side, all of which are plain sashes set on stone sills. At the eaves, there are two additional sashes above prominent canted oriels that have large sashes and deep skirts, along with a sash window at the ground floor. To the left of centre, there is a 20th-century door beneath an elliptical arch with a plain fanlight. The side facing Wesley Street has the same window arrangement, but includes a square six-pane fixed display window beneath the right-hand oriel and a panelled door in a similar arched opening at the extreme right-hand corner. The building features a small stone plinth, a mid-level plat band, and a second-floor sill band. The roof is hipped at the outer corner and has three large ridge stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
