Description

CORFE CASTLE WEST STREET, KINGSTON SY 95 79 (North side) 6/183 The Scott Arms, including outbuilding on left (formerly listed as Scott Arms Hotel) GV II Public house. Late C18 - early C19. Rubble stone walls, stone slate roof. Hammer-dressed ashlar stacks - one at each end and 2 intermediate. 2 storeys. Gabled porch with stone slate roof. Battened door. Ground floor has 6 sashes with glazing bars, under segmental stone arches. 7 similar windows on first floor. At rear, two 2-storeyed gabled projections in matching construction, with flat-roofed section between these. Various attached outbuildings at rear, now incorporated in the public house. Internally, one large open fireplace with timber lintol. Outbuilding at left end, probably former stable, linked to main building by gate. This has rubble stone walls and stone slate roof. Single- storey. Ledged door and 2 shuttered windows.
