Description

Rodwell Cottage is an early to mid-19th century house in a row. The main two-storey section has rendered walls and a slate or asbestos-cement slate roof. It features two windows with plain sashes, and a central door set within fluted pilasters and a frieze decorated with paterae, topped by a cornice. A stone moulded cornice, blocking, and parapet are present, returning approximately 0.6 metres at the ends, where gable stacks are located. To the right of the main range is a lower two-storey section, also with an asbestos-cement slate roof, containing a single window. This window is part of a large canted oriel with plain sashes, above wide plank doors with a six-pane transom light. A red brick stack is located to the right. The smaller unit was likely constructed as a fill or service block between this and the adjacent property at No. 48. The interior has not been inspected.
