Description
No. 1 Longfield Road is a detached villa built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features a stucco exterior and a slate roof. The building has a compact, symmetrical hipped shape with two storeys and three windows, all of which are 12-pane sashes with slender glazing bars. The central entrance consists of a six-panel moulded door set in an arched opening, accompanied by a radial fanlight, plain pilasters, and a small hood supported by a cornice mould. The villa has plain return walls, box eaves, and gable stacks. To the left, there is a 20th-century garage attached. The rear of the building retains original 12-pane sashes, along with a small wing and a central lean-to extension. The interior has not been inspected. This elegant building has maintained its external appearance without significant alterations; the finely detailed sashes reflect late 18th-century design, while the overall form indicates early 19th-century influences.
