Description
No. 9 Trinity Street is a house in a row, dating from the early 19th century, although it may contain some 18th-century fabric. The exterior is rendered and scribed, with brick stacks and an asbestos-cement or slate roof. This small unit features a parallel rear range, both topped with mansard roofs. The building has two storeys with an attic and one window.
Above a canted sash oriel with a flat roof and cornice, there is a wide 20th-century dormer. The late 19th-century shop front has fluted pilasters, two wide panes, a very shallow transom light, a sloping fascia, and a thin cornice supported by bold consoles. To the right, set back on two stone steps, is a two-panel door, along with an additional door for the shop on the return. A tall brick stack is located on the left gable and at the rear range. The back of the building features a flat-roofed dormer above a four-pane sash window and a casement window on the first floor, as well as a door and a two-light casement on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
